Finding Minor Scale from Major Scale – Video Tutorials

Initially select any major scale

Let us select ‘C’ Major scale

C-1 D-2 E-3 F-4 G-5 A-6 B-7 C-8

Now how to find minor from this ‘C’ major scale ?

Any minor scale(Natural) is nothing but, it is the same sequence which starts from 6th degree or 6th note of major scale.

In C major scale 6th note is ‘A’, therefore ‘A’ is the minor scale or relative scale of ‘C’ major scale.

After applying the same sequence of respective major scale, ‘A’ minor scale will be in this way.

A-1 B-2 C-3 D-4 E-5 F-6 G-7 A-8

At the end of the day, the minor scale or relative scale starts from the 6th note of major scale with the same sequence.

‘A’ minor scale is the relative scale of ‘C’ major scale.
