Finding Major Scale from Minor Scale – Video Tutorials

Initially select any minor scale

Let us select ‘F’ Minor scale

F-1 G-2 G#-3 A#-4 C-5 C#-6 D#-7 F-8

Now how to find major scale from this ‘F’ minor scale ?

Any major scale is nothing but, it is the same sequence which starts from 3rd degree or 3rd note of minor scale(Natural).

In F minor scale 3rd note is ‘G#’, therefore ‘G#’ is the major scale or relative scale of ‘F’ minor scale.

After applying the same sequence of respective minor scale, ‘G#’ major scale will be in this way.

G#-1 A#-2 C-3 C#-4 D#-5 F-6 G-7 G#-8

At the end of the day, the major scale or relative scale starts from the 3rd note of minor scale with the same sequence.

‘G#’ major scale is the relative scale of ‘F’ minor scale.
