How to switch a song from ‘Minor scale to Major scale’ or ‘Vice versa’ ?

In any scale whether it is minor or major, generally we will have basic ‘Eight’ notes from low to high or high to low.

Minor scale – 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 1 2…
Major scale – 6 7 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 1 2 3 4 5 6 7…

Note: Here minor scale is natural minor scale

The notes which are on right side of basic 1st note are known as high notes and which are on left side are known as low notes.

The 1st note can act as both 1st note and 8th note from low to high or high to low.

Relationship between Minor scale(Natural) and Major scale

The 1st note of minor scale is equal to 6th note of major scale with the same sequence followed of respective scale. Similarly 2nd note of minor scale is equal to 7th note of major scale and it goes on with the sequence.

Major scale (converted)

Zindagi – 7(L), 2, 1

Ab Tum hi ho – 76, 756 (L)

Zindagi – G, A#G# – 2, 4, 3

C Major Scale

C major scale

Kyunki Tum hi ho – CDE, CD – 123, 12

Ab Tum hi ho – CDE, CD – 123, 12

Zindagi – B, D, C – 7(L), 2, 1

Ab Tum hi ho – BA, BGA – 76, 756 (L)

This is the way you need to convert and play on respective scales.

At the end of the day you need to understand that this number pattern formula can only work for the scales which are not similar in nature like from major to minor or minor to major. It doesn’t work for the scales which are similar in nature like major to major or minor to minor.
